ABOUT

We are a bunch of discombobulated miscreants and international men and women of mystery - beginning a literary journey enrolled on a Herring House programme.  We are based in Great Yarmouth inspired by its heritage, life, environment and challenges.

Englishman raised in Texas, but always craved fish and chips.  Lover of poetry, art and music. Fortune favoured me to be able to move to Great Yarmouth, and I have been able to pursue happiness since.

I live in a house of keys, all very different in size. I enter my home and all there is, is a staircase, a spiral staircase. I had been here for a long time and opened only about ten doors, some good, some bad but that was the answer. What next? This is a house and staircase of many answers. Time for another door.

A Norfolk grown lad from a rural area with aspirations of urban living, later urban living and life lead to a re-learning of self.

Sue is the heart of Herring House Trust.

I would describe myself as the plant man. I have a room with many species.  In an ideal world I would love to live in a cottage but I am very grateful and happy to be where I am today. Maybe one day this dream will come true, and I can take all my plants with me. Until that day I take each day as it comes with gratitude and I appreciate all of the surroundings that this free world has to offer.

I am not good with early mornings. I love sea fishing, football, most sports and music. I am shy by nature - although I do like a laugh and a joke.  I used to get nervous meeting new people. herring House Trust, Sue and everybody has helped me and been friendly. I feel like a new person and life changed for the better. I try to help people whenever I can.
